Nintendo Denies Rumours of Hardware Unveiling at E3
Looks like that's the end of that speculation then...

Earlier today reports emerged that Nintendo was planning on unveiling a brand new hardware platform at next month's E3 in Los Angeles (heck, we even reported about the reports ourselves), but the company has come out to flatly deny that it has any such plans for the show.

When website CVG reached out to Nintendo for comment, they were told that there4 were absolutely no plans to showcase any new hardware at E3, meaning that the event should instead focus on the company's gaming lineup, which will include looks at Super Smash Bros. on Wii U and 3DS, Bayonetta 2 and, hopefully, a brand new title in the long-running Legend of Zelda series.

However, that doesn't mean that you can discount all speculation surrounding new hardware from Nintendo, as CEO Satoru Iwata has always claimed that the company WILL shoecase a new system before the end of the current fiscal year, which runs until the end of March 2015. The likelihood is that this will be an all new platform, not a successor to the Wii U or the 3DS - although we wouldn't rule out some form of cross-platform connectivity.
