After two months on hiatus, Blizzard's Overwatch is playable again in beta form.
The closed beta returns with a new mode, Control, which sounds a lot like King of the Hill; two maps to go with that mode; a mode that lets you hone your skills as part of a six-person team against bots; and a progression system that gives players cosmetic goodies like icons, skins, emotes, and more.
"At its core, we've designed Overwatch to be a game that's exciting and satisfying to play on its own," Blizzard explained in a blog post. "However, we also know how fun it can be to work toward long-term goals and be rewarded for the time and effort you've put into playing."
Interestingly, Overwatch doesn't have a level cap, so players can keep playing and earning new cosmetic loot. If something drops that you already have, you'll get credits instead, which you can then spend on cosmetic items.
