Blizzard's Overwatch has been in closed beta for a really long time now, which isn't that surprising when it comes to the latest game from the company behind World of Warcraft. This title needs to be as close to perfect as possible before it launches.
Quite when that will be remains a bit of a mystery, at least in terms of official news, but a new leak has finally given us a potential date - May 24th.
The report comes from a pretty unusual place, with the IGN website briefly displaying an ad for the game with that launch date and a proposed open beta at the beginning of May. The ad was swiftly removed but not before the damage was done, and that's a pretty major mistake. On the plus side, the nature of the ad makes it very likely that its genuine and the fact that its in their system also likely means that we'll have official word from Blizzard very soon.
Initial response from the betas so far have been positive, and it's certainly a cheery looking shooter. More as we get it.
