In case you're not aware, 2016 is most definitely the year of Virtual Reality, with a number of new products set to hit the market in the next few months, including Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive. And there's another big name with a release in the offing, as PlayStation VR enters the mix.
It's being pitched as an entry point into VR using the PlayStation 4 console for some processing power and also coming with its own headset and controllers. Actual information is still pretty scarce, but we have heard that it will cost around the same as an entirely new console when it finally launches. As to when that might be, there's a rumour floating around that it could arrive as soon as Autumn 2016.
That's interesting because Sony had previously stated it was aiming for release in the first half of the year. It's not a massive difference but it does indicate a lack of information in general about the product. Either way, it does sound like it will be out before the end of 2016, and hopefully it will provide a more affordable way for folks to get into the virtual reality revolution.
