Pokemon Go might be fading into the background but the fans are still out in force for the series as Pokemon Sun and Moon hit the streets in Japan with huge sales figures.
The game sold 1.9 million units just in Japan, and that only includes physical copies as digital sales aren't counted. It also doesn't count the units sold in the United States just yet. Any way you look at it, that's a massive win for the franchise, coming in as the third biggest launch for any main Pokemon game.
Sun and Moon launch in Ireland and the rest of Europe on the 23rd of November, or midnight tonight if you're one of the people likely to stay up. The games are exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS and kick off the seventh generation of Pokemon games, and also mark the 20th anniversary of the celebrated franchise.
The reviews so far have been pretty amazing, so this sounds like a must buy for fans.
