Remember earlier this month when Activision came out to announced that the Xbox One version of its movie tie-in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 would be indefinitely postponed? Well it seems that Activision don't. Somewhat bizarrely, the game became available for purchase via the Xbox One's store earlier today, and reports are flooding in from all around the net that players have been able to purchase and play the title.
The game, developed by studio Beenox, was originally set to launch for the platform today, alongside versions for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS, PC and mobile platforms, before Activision took the unexpected steps of announcing that the Xbox One version would not be available on launch, with no indications as to when it might see the light of day, or reasons for the delay.
As things stand right now, we're as confused as you guys are, but until Activision makes an official announcement as to what exactly happend, the situation remains unclear.
We'll have our review of the Xbox 360 version of the game up on Thursday, so keep an eye out for that.
