Quantum Break survives Xbox Entertainment Studios' shutdown
Part-game, part-TV show Quantum Break will not be affected by Microsoft’s decision to shutdown Xbox Entertainment Studios, the division responsible for creating Xbox-exclusive programming.

The Xbox One exclusive is still on track to be released next year, according to a Microsoft spokesperson. The TV show, which will focus on the series’ villains, is also going ahead as planned.

More Quantum Break details will be revealed at Gamescom next month, as was previously outlined in the run-up to E3 this year.

Projects that are currently in production, such as Halo: Nightfall and the Atari documentary Signal to Noise will also survive the closure of the studio.

While Microsoft is putting an end to Xbox-exclusive programming, third-party content providers will remain unaffected by the changes. A Microsoft spokesperson said that its app partnerships “remain an important component of our Xbox strategy."
