Razer has unveiled a new PC-tablet crossover concept entitled
Project Fiona. The concept design is aimed at gamers that want to play the latest, most popular PC titles on the go. Project Fiona will feature the Intel Core i7 processor and a 10.1” 1200x800 display. In addition, Razer is attempting to immerse people in the experience fully with the inclusion of full force feedback and Dolby 7.1 surround sound.
CEO of Razer, Min-Liang Tan, highlighted the control scheme on Project Fiona and how it runs gamepad-enabled PC games out of the box. He argued that touch screen controls “are not the right interface for serious PC gaming”. He added, “The user interface we have designed for Project Fiona allows all existing PC games to be played right out of the box and also provides game developers new opportunities as they develop next-gen games on a highly-intuitive platform.”
The Project Fiona concept PC gaming tablet will ship in Q4, 2012. It is expected to retail at under $1,000.
