In-game proposals have been done in the past using user-generated content, but one man was not willing to stop at that. Instead, he contacted
RedLynx about putting a message in its latest iOS title,
1000 Heroz. The game gives players one new mission or level per day to create and break records before starting again the next day.
Peter contacted RedLynx on its
forum and aired the idea. Originally he hoped for a small banner in the background of one of the levels. RedLynx was very accommodating as one developer posted back with several options including an urgent news bulletin, a news item and a sliding info banner. With that out of the way, Peter requested that the level in question have no cannons so that his better half was in a good mood.
The result of both sides efforts was a large personalised banner that players would see every time they paused the game. This message was broadcast for the world to see. Thankfully, Peter was able to return to the RedLynx forums the next day with a smile as Ying loved the proposal.
