Resident Evil fans might want to invest in a PlayStation if they haven't already, because the next chapter is a console exclusive.
At least the VR version is. It seems that Resi 7 is only going to be playable via a headset on PlayStation VR at launch, and that it will be an exclusive for at least 12 months. Now those who want to play the game without a headset will be able to do so on Xbox One and PC as well.
This news only really applies to PC players will Oculus Rift or the Vive, and they're going to be waiting a long time to get stuck into Resident Evil 7 in this way. That's a shame as the graphics and framerates would probably be superior on the PC platform, but might also require a good deal more development time.
In related news, the upcoming Batman Arkham VR will be a timed exclusive until April 2017.
Resi 7 is out in January, 2017. Batman Arkham VR debuted in October, 2016.
