Sea of Thieves trailer and a Pirate shanty

Sea of Thieves might well have been the most popular game at E3 2016 - it's basically about taking your friends out as a pirate crew and sailing the seven seas in search of bounty.

The latest video isn't really about gameplay, instead its showing off the song which was such a big part of the massive trailer at E3. Listen to all of We Shall Sail Together - composed by Robin Beanland, lyrics by Chris Allcock, performed by Anna Hon, mixed by Rich Aitken at Nimrod. It's a new take on a classic song, and it's aces.

Lovely stuff. Of course that doesn't really give you much of an impression of what the game is like to play, and it looks like Rare is doing something pretty unique in terms of letting players do whatever they like. Which means you'll have to figure out how to sail a ship on your own.

Check out the E3 gameplay trailer for a glimpse at how some total newcomers fared. Some of them were destined for a visit with Davy Jones...

Mostly it looks like a lot of fun and Assassin's Creed Black Flag proved that there's always room for more pirate action in videogames. Sea of Thieves is coming out in early 2017.
