We've been waiting for Shadow of Mordor for quite some time now and with the game finally in hand we're getting to grips with its open world and the really very enjoyable killing of completely evil Orcs and Uruks and other things with guttural names. Old JRR wasn't exactly subtle with his naming conventions.
There's a very unique flow to combat in the game and its something you really have to experience for yourself. Or you could check out this really incredible from the Corridor Digital guys. The live action take on Shadows of Mordor is totally sponsored by Warner Bros but its that extra bit of sheen that makes it a brilliant evocation of the game.
It starts a bit slow but the fighting that kicks of around 3.30 is the real deal.
I love the attention to detail, with the enemy taunting Talion and the use of his signature weapons. And of course there's the very commendable move to keep all of that stick, sticky blood right where it should be - all over the screen. Gotta love a decapitation or two.
Shadow of Morder is out now on consoles and PC. We recommend it for the bloodthirsty out there...
