SimCity beta application period extended
Those counting down the days to SimCity’s launch on March 8th should register their interest in an upcoming beta, which will give them access to the game from January 25th until January 28th. Before you get too excited and book multiple days off work to get your metropolis running we should warn you that you will only be able to play the beta in one-hour chunks. However, you will be able to play this one-hour slice multiple times over the course of the beta period.

According to Senior Vice President and General Manager of Maxis, Lucy Bradshaw, the beta will help the team ensure a “smooth and user-friendly experience at launch.” Players will also be invited to provide feedback, which could help shape the final product.

Those who previously signed-up are already in consideration for access, but Maxis has decided to give late applicants another chance to get access. Registration for the beta closes on January 21st. For more information about the beta, head over to the dedicated beta webpage. SimCity will launch on March 8th.
