Skyrim is back, and we couldn't be happier!
The endlessly epic role playing game took the world by storm back on 11.11.11 when it first released, and it has been gobbling up hundreds of hours of players time ever since.
Skyrim Special Edition launches later this year and the modding community was no doubt wondering what effect that will have on their creations. The hopeful answer is - none.
So existing mods on the PC will work, though we're a little concerned about what 'basically' means. There are bound to be some compatibility issues but it does mean that ambitious conversions will live again in the new version, and then folks can get to work on making the prettier graphics even prettier again.
Mods aren't anything new for the PC community but this will be the first time they're available on consoles. That's going to be quite the adventure, and we'll have to wait and see how the content works cross platform.
Skyrim Special Edition launches on October 28th, 2016 and is free to anyone who has all the DLC for the original release. Which is nice.
