With reports already circulating across the internet that Sega is ready to unveil a brand new Sonic the Hedgehog title at E3 next month, it looks as though the game might just be called Sonic Lost World. That's according to a report from Siliconera, who noticed that Sega had filed for the trademark yesterday.
The title is apparently well into its development cycle, and given the mooted November release date it might just be a launch title for both PlayStation 4 and the as-yet unnamed next generation Xbox system. Given the series' hit and miss form over the past decade, swinging from the sublime Sonic Generations and Sonic Colours to the instantly forgettable Sonic the Hedgehog reboot, it's difficult to know what to expect from this one. If Sega sticks to the basics, however, and opts for plenty of side-on action, we're hopeful that this might turn out to be some way decent - of course, if they choose to push ahead with the 3D style that has floudered so badly since the Sonic Adventure titles, then things could well get messy.
What do you think? Is it time Sega retired the Blue Blur or is there life in the old hog yet?
