Dynamite Entertainment has announced it will be releasing a four-issue series set in the Splinter Cell universe, entitled Splinter Cell: Echoes. Echoes takes place between the events of Splinter Cell: Conviction and Splinter Cell: Blacklist, and follows Sam Fisher as he gets pulled out of retirement after attacks by a terrorist organization known as KROWE.
The comic is meant to bridge the gap between Splinter Cell: Conviction and Splinter Cell: Blacklist.
Nathan Edmondson, current writer of Marvel's The Punisher and Black Widow, will be writing the comic. Marc Laming, a DC artist that has worked on comics like The Sandman: Taller Tales, will be contributing the art.
"I'm telling a full and original story that stands on its own as an action-espionage tale that we're both proud of, bringing a narrative element to the thrill of the game in a way that only a comic can do. It's a rattling good spy-fi yarn that gives good fan service while equally accessible to folk who don't know the Splinter Cell world," Edmondson said.
Splinter Cell: Echoes was originally part of a limited collector's edition of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist. Dynamite's reissue will have the original material and contain all-new bonus content. The four-issueseries will be available in stores and digitally starting in July.
