Star Wars Battlefront is a new game coming from DICE and EA with the full backing of the franchise behind it and it arrives just a few weeks before the premiere of The Force Awakens.
It's a pretty amazing time to be a fan and we can't wait to get more details on the game but for the moment we do have one more piece of info to share - Battlefront will be playable offline. Considering the meat of the game is likely to be massive multiplayer battles in some of the most iconic locales of the Star Wars universe its great to hear that we'll be able to jump in solo and still hone our skills without having to get involved with other humans.
In this case, its all about the Bots - which are computer controlled enemies and allies you can use to populate your games. It seems Battlefront will also allow you to add bots to a multiplayer match if you don't have enough human players and take part in special Missions which are designed to be played alone. Here's the tweet from DICE design director Niklas Fegraeus:
On his Twitter he's been answering plenty of questions about the game, including the fact that the settings will only mirror those of the original trilogy - which is a bit strange when you consider a whole new trilogy is about to kick off. Maybe that's something they could address with DLC? There's also word that you can play as a host of heroes - with Vader and Boba Fett revealed in the teaser. And the video is all in-game graphics, which is very impressive.
It's great to be getting some info and there's more to come in the next few months - expect a big blow out at E3 in June.
Star Wars Battlefront comes to PS4, Xbox One and PC on the 17th of November 2015.
