The Conduit HD Coming to Tablets
FPS action awaits owners of NVIDIA Tegra powered devices later this month!
High Voltage Software, the independent developer behind the award winning Wii first-person shooters The Conduit and Conduit 2, is pleased to announce the release of The Conduit HD on March 14th from the Google Play store.

The single-player experience of this award-winning title breaks new ground by harnessing the tremendous potential of NVIDIA’s Tegra-powered devices in the form of The Conduit HD. The highly praised graphics of the original console game have been greatly improved to make this one of the best looking mobile games.

“This project is important for our industry because it proves that not only can we deliver console-quality gameplay experiences on mobile platforms, but we can improve them,” said Eric Nofsinger, Chief Creative Officer at High Voltage Software. “From the graphics to the gameplay, The Conduit HD delivers an experience that was only previously possible on consoles.”

The Conduit HD is a fast-paced action First Person Shooter (FPS) set in the near-future of a fictional America. Players fight enemy forces in a highly detailed 3D world using the robust sensitivity of the touchscreen controls. Battle against fourteen (14) unique enemies that use cover and tactical thinking to make each encounter exciting. Unleash destruction with a huge arsenal of eighteen (18) different weapons, many of which utilize unique aiming and firing modes.

“We worked very closely with NVIDIA during development,” said Kerry J. Ganofsky, CEO & Founder of High Voltage Software. “Their Tegra mobile processors have revolutionized the industry and we’re proud to help showcase that.”

Excellent controls have been a staple for the franchise and this game is no different. Featuring intuitive touch-based controls for movement and aiming, simple gestures for more complex mechanics and the ability to customize nearly everything to fit your play style, The Conduit HD delivers. For those that prefer more traditional controls, the game fully supports GameStop’s Wireless Bluetooth Controller for Android providing a true console-like experience.

“Intuitive and customizable controls have always been a hallmark of Conduit,” said Kevin Sheller, Producer. “And Conduit HD further refines this input methodology specifically for touch interfaces. It’s a much more accessible way to play a first person shooter.”

The Conduit received a number of awards including Best Overall Wii Game from IGN.com and Gametrailers.com, Best of E3 2009 from 411mania.com and Best Wii Game from CrispyGamer.com. It was again a nominee for Best Wii Shooting Game from IGN.com and GamingExcellence.com. Additionally, it was a Gaming Excellence.com nominee for Best Wii Game of the Show and a runner up for Wii Game of the Show by GameSpy.com.

The game includes some stellar voice performances by Mark A. Sheppard, William Morgan Sheppard, Kevin Sorbo and many more!

Mark A. Sheppard stars as the voice of the main character, Michael Ford. A British-born actor and musician, Sheppard’s TV credits include Supernatural, Leverage, Warehouse 13, Chuck, Battlestar Galactica, 24, Medium, Firefly, Burn Notice, CSI and many more. His film credits include Unstoppable, Evil Eyes, and In the Name of the Father.

William Morgan Sheppard puts his incredible voice to the character of John Adams. William Morgan Sheppard spent 12 years as an Associate Artist with the Royal Shakespeare Company. His TV credits include Young Justice, Dexter, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The AOF Channel, Mad Men, Legend of the Seeker, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Babylon 5, and Kingdom Hospital. His film credits include Star Trek VI, The Prestige and Transformers. His video game credits include Civilization 5, The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, Medal of Honor, Metal Gear Solid 2, Escape from Monkey Island and Star Wars: Force Commander.

Last but definitely not least is Kevin Sorbo, who stars as the voice of the terrorist Prometheus. Sorbo is an American actor best known for the role of Hercules in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Captain Dylan Hunt in Andromeda. His film credits include Kull the Conqueror, Avenging Angel, Prairie Fever, Meet the Spartans and An American Carol. His video game credits include Skylanders: Giants and God of War 3.

Music in The Conduit HD was composed by the famed Diego Stocco. Stocco's sound design credits include movies such as Immortals, Takers, Sherlock Holmes, Transformers, Resident Evil: Extinction, Crank, Jumper, Lady in the Water, and video game soundtracks for Assassin’s Creed Revelations, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Justice League Heroes, Far Cry and SoulCalibur IV.

“Working with Diego on this title was such an enjoyment,” stated Michael Metz, Audio/Video Director at High Voltage Software. “When I heard the first track he made for The Conduit, I literally got the chills; it was exactly the mood and mix we were looking for.”

Rick Nielsen, guitarist and founding member of the musical group Cheap Trick, provided guitar performances for The Conduit. Nielsen, who has penned and performed such hits as I Want You to Want Me and Surrender, is known for his distinctly powerful riffs and for his signature five-neck custom guitar and crowd-pleasing live performances.

"We were very excited to get the chance to work with Rick on The Conduit," said Eric Nofsinger, Chief Creative Officer of High Voltage Software. "Even though he's known for driving rock guitar, he was able to provide great ambience and textural qualities that perfectly fits the mood of the game and helps it become a truly unique experience."
