The closed beta for The Division is happening right now, and if you missed it there's some good news - Ubisoft has extended the test for another day.
So the beta will stay open on PC, Xbox One and PS4 until the morning of Tuesday the 2nd of February. Ubisoft has also said that they're working extra hard to ensure that those who have signed up for keys will get one as soon as possible, though in all likelihood that's going to happen right when you're heading off to work.
The beta is a pretty large chunk of gameplay, with a main mission as well as a large number of side quests dotted around the city. You can get a glimpse at the resource management necessary to restore your base to full functionality and shoot a lot of AI in the head. There's also a taste of the Dark Zone gameplay, which is an dangerous area where you can venture to get more loot but be warned - other real life players are free to kill you and take your stuff.
This has been an important rollout for The Division, partly because it wasn't all that clear exactly how the game was shaping up before now. Impressions seem to be mostly positive and there hasn't been any word of major technical issues, which bodes well for the full release in March.
