Ubisoft has big plans for The Division, which includes a major launch on the 8th of March 2016, a season pass and free content to support Year One of launch.
It all sounds pretty ambitious, and kicks off with the first free addition in April, a wave based game mode which is supposed to give you more to do after the end of the main game. You'll also get loot trading, if you happen to have to omany shiny weapons. In May, Conflict also arrives for free, making the Dark Zone more interesting and adding a new incursion area for more co-op Chaos.
The rest of 2016 will see the arrival of three paid for expansions part of the Season Pass.
Expansion I: Underground
Available in June, this first major expansion lets players explore the uncharted underworld of New York City. Players will chase deadly enemies with up to three other Agents through an endless maze of tunnels and subways.
Expansion II: Survival
Available this summer, this expansion will challenge players to survive as long as possible by gathering essential supplies in a very hostile environment.
Expansion III: Last Stand
Next winter, a new threat rises as players and their squad must prepare to defend against a relentless foe.
Sounds like you're going to be pretty busy if you choose to step into the shoes of a Division agent in a virus shattered New York, and it's going to be interesting to see what Ubisoft plans to deliver in Year 2 and beyond.
The Division is out on the 8th of March 2016.
