The Last of Us is a really well made game, with an incredible story, stunning visuals and a totally creepy end of the world vibe. And now its also a massive hit across multiple generations.
At the Tokyo Game Show, Sony President Shuhei Yoshida took to the stage to confirm that the remastered PS4 reissue of The Last of Us has already sold over one million copies - and that's just over a month after it hit shelves.
That means its in the same company as Knack and Second Son and shows the strength of the PS4 less than a year after release. It likely also means that we're going to start to see more remastered editions of games, taking advantage of a step up in graphical power and a new generation of gamers who might be getting to grips with a console for the first time.
Beyond: Two Souls already seems to be on the way to PS4 but Sony might see a bit of a flaw in their logic here. The Last of Us is, objectively, a good game. Beyond... not so much. And no amount of flashy graphics or extended material will disguise the fact that its a bit of a mess.
What other games would you like to see remastered?
