For those outside the Nintendo fold, it can be easy to forget that they've got some new hardware set for release on the 13th of February. And the NEW Nintendo 3DS is looking pretty neat indeed.
The name is probably a giveaway but yes, this is yet another version of the handheld console which first launched way, way back in early 2011 and there have been a few iterations since. But this is the biggest refresh yet, including new buttons and design elements, NFC support and microSD support and massive improvements to the 3D performance. Check out the top 5 things to like about the new console below.
There's a lot to like in this package, and it doesn't hurt that its compatible with games all the way back to the DS days and might actually make the 3D worthwhile for players who generally turned the feature off in the first gen version. Early reviews from the Japanese release of the console have been strong and Nintendo will want to get the hardware out to the rest of the world in double quick fashion.
The New Nintendo 3DS is out February 13th 2015 and pricing is €199 for the standard version and €240 for the XL model.
