You may have noticed earlier today that The Witcher 2 Assassin's of Kings was suddenly free on Xbox 360 in some regions. And it turns out there was a reason for that, you can now get it on Xbox One!
This magic comes courtesy of backwards compatability, whereby you can play older 360 games on the newer console. The Witcher 2 is one of the latest additions, and developers CD Project RED thought they would make it really easy to access by making it totally free. It does seem to be region restricted though, click this link to see if you can grab it.
This comes at the same time as news that new titles will be released as soon as they're ready, instead of in a monthly update. And here are the new games which you can play now. It's a pretty random selection.
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings
Sam & Max Save the World
Age of Booty
Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad
Remember that if you previously owned these games and are using the same Xbox Live account, you should now be able to play them on the Xbox One. It even works with physical disks, just pop one into the Xbox One console and you'll be ready to go.
