A Kickstarter campaign is underway for a board game conversion of indie hit This War of Mine, and it’s already reached its rather modest goal.
The project reached its £40,000 goal in just three hours, and currently stands at just over £80,000. This means that it has hit every known stretch goal, including an alternative version of the board, a promo card, and two new miniatures.
This War of Mine: The Board Game is a fully co-operative survival experience. The story-driven game is designed for 1-6 players with you controlling a group of civilians trapped in a city in the midst of a military conflict.
The campaign blurb says, "To survive, you will need to make tough moral choices, delivered in a role-playing style. You will also scavenge, manage, fight, trade and upgrade your shelter. This tabletop adaptation is based on one of the biggest indie games of recent years. TWOM: TBG offers you an experience that is hard to come by in any other tabletop game.”
“Combined with the highest quality components created by experienced companies, this title will fully engage you with its meaningful story. It is high time for board games to address important topics."
More details about the board game can be found on the Kickstarter page or in the campaign video. You can also see an extended gameplay video below.
