We don’t recall skaters firing projectiles at the X-Games, but that will be one new feature of the upcoming Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5.
The game was revealed in this month’s Game Informer with plenty of details to mull over. While the game is being developed by Robomodo, who you may recall from the Tony Hawk: Ride and Tony Hawk: Shred games. That won’t fill many with confidence, but they hope to strike the same chord with players that the first four titles in the THPS series did.
At the same time, there will be some new features. Players will be able to get power-ups, and will even be able to shoot projectiles for specific missions.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 will feature a variety of new levels, each with their own objectives and missions. You can take these on in single player or play with friends online in co-op or competitive play.
Of course, Tony Hawk will be a playable skater. He’s joined by other familiar faces along with a new generation of skaters. Skaters include Nyjah Huston, Aaron Homoki, Ishod Wair, Riley Hawk, Lizzie Armanto, Chris Cole, David Gonzalez, Leticia Bufoni, and Andrew Reynolds.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 will be released first on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year, with PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions to follow shortly after.
