After months of speculation Ubisoft has finally lifted the lid on the next Assassin's Creed game. Officially dubbed Assassin's Creed Unity, the game will take place in Revolutionary France and is set for launch exclusively on PC, Sony PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Xbox One.
The announcement was most likely forced by the leaking of in-game images earlier this week, given that the accompanying trailer shows very little, but already it's looking as though it could be superb addition to the long-running and much-loved series.
Although no details have been announced about the identity of the newest Assassin in the series, the leaked information that accompanied early screenshots earlier this week suggested that he would be named Arno - so based on the accuracy of the rest of the information, there's a good chance that'll prove to be correct.
Given that Unity will be next gen (or should that be current gen) only, it's likely that PS3 and Xbox 360 owners will get a different game this fall/winter, however Ubisoft is remaining tight-lipped on that speculation.
