Ubisoft to punish The Division players using exploits

The Division’s April update added the first incursion activity, Falcon Lost, but players have found a way to exploit it and reap the rewards multiple times.

Falcon Lost is designed to reward players once per week, but players found a way to trick the game. By using the game’s portable cover skill to slide through a wall, players can skip most of the incursion boss’ encounter, but earn loot. However, the game doesn’t register that the loot has been claimed, meaning players can re-do it over and over again.

Honest players are aggrieved and Ubisoft is looking at both the exploit and how it can punish those who have been taking advantage of it. Taking to The Division’s forum, Ubisoft’s community manager Natchai wrote, "Obviously it is against our Code of Conduct. The team is looking into what can be done in terms of punishment for those who have exploited."

Where this exploit becomes particularly problematic is in the player-versus-player Dark Zone where some are overpowered by players who have used the exploit to gain a significant amount of loot and an advantage as a result.

Ubisoft has patched the incursion to fix an issue whereby characters were deleted, but it’s not yet known when this issue will be addressed.
