Ubisoft's hotly anticipated online racer The Crew has officially been confirmed for launch in 2014, following mounting speculation that it could slip into the 2015 release schedule.
The game, which has been attracting significant attention since it was debuted at E3 last year thanks to its unparalleled scope, will be available on both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with Ubisoft confirming that it'll run at 1080p and 30 frames per second on each platform.
The game is already available for pre-order, with two special versions on offer -a Limited Edition with the added bonus of early access to the BMW Z4 sDrive35is, the Mini Cooper S and the Dodge Ram SRT-10 and the Muscle Addition, which is only available at a select retailer and features early access to the 2015 Ford Mustang GT, as well as everything in the Limited Edition. Whichever of the two special editions you opt for, you'll be able to look forward to 10,000 bonus Crew Credits for spending within the game.
Ubisoft has also confirmed to website VideoGamer that the game will offer microtransactions for players who want to skip the grind of unlocking everything manually (which is possible) and simply pay for their favourite cars.
With a huge play area to explore, The Crew looks like it could prove to be something special, and we'll be keeping you up to date with all the latest news as we get it. In the meantime, why not check out the latest gameplay trailer below...
