The Uncharted video game series has to be one of the most influential of the last decade, ushering in a new era of cinematic adventures on the then current gen PS3 and showing just how much a talented team could get out of increasingly aged technology. With a new PS4 only version on the horizon, it's the perfect time to give gamers another look at this excellent trilogy.
And now, according to a leak from Swiss retailer, we're going to get the chance as the Uncharted Trilogy for PS4 has been listed on the CeDe site. The listing has since disappered but the original post shows that it included box art for the PS4 and a release date at the end of September 2015. With the release of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End slipping into 2016, a late 2015 date for the trilogy would be the perfect time to remind gamers of the best of the series to date.
With no word from Sony on the actual existence of this trilogy set, its hard to take anything about the leak seriously. The date could be nothing but a placeholder and the art isn't particularly convincing, though someone would have had to create it just for the listing which seems like an odd thing for a retail site to do. Rumours of a re-release for the PS4 have been around for months now and Naughty Dog themselves have already worked on a re-release of The Last of Us for the new generation PS4. It's a matter of when rather than if as far as we're concerned so maybe this is the first real confirmation of an actual trilogy release.
More as we get it.
