Mirror's Edge was a dang beautiful thing when it released back in 2008, even if very few people actually bought it. And after almost eight years we're getting a new game which looks even more gorgeous.
Mirror's Edge Catalyst is some kind of prequel story, once more featuring the character of Faith who is a courier in a glittering future dystopia who gets into some trouble and has to go on the run. And running is the name of the game here, as you use your parkour skills to stay one step and jump and crazy wall run ahead of your pursuers.
The latest video for the game shows off the movement which is on over, which is heavily influenced by parkour and also brings a great sense of weight and embodiment to bear on proceedings. It looks great is what we're saying.
Does it make sense that Faith has more moves in a prequel tale? Well kind of because the original Mirror's Edge started with the character recovering from some kind of injury. Or maybe we're reading too much into that.
Mirrors Edge Catalyst is out in May 2016.
