Mafia 3 might not be on everyone's radar just yet but it's already looking it could be one of the breakout hits of the year, with tons of ambition and a dark and deadly story at its core.
One of the biggest assets the game has is its setting, in the 60s in the wake of the Vietnam war on the streets of New Bordeaux. It's an invented space which owes much to the real byways of New Orleans but with the freedom of fiction to make it a playground for your character Lincoln Clay. He has a hard name to go with his hard job - killing everyone who was involved with a massive betrayal.
The team at Hanger 13 are pretty open about how the city is another important character in the game and you can see that in the bustle and the detail and the way it's all laid out before you. Listen to them talk about creating the city in this new video.
It looks huge and full of personality, something which can be missing in open world games, and we can't wait to explore every nook and cranny in October, 2016.
