The mighty mecha action of Titanfall was fun enough if you're into multiplayer mayhem but it was missing one vital element - a story.
Sure you could play the game solo but there was little real structure and no connection to your chosen character. Thankfully, it looks like developer Respawn are going to change all that for the sequel.
Check out the first trailer for the single player portion of Titanfall 2. We think it looks great.
Not only have the graphics improved but the setup seems genuinely cool - a pilot and titan who were never supposed to meet have to work together against incredible odds. And the game looks to be really pushing the connection between bot and man, with the mech doing everything it can to ensure his survival.
We're sure things will end up being a bit generic but that hook is enough to get us interested at this point, and it's reassuring to see major games adding back more story for a second go around.
A full release date for the game was also revealed, we'll get to play Titanfall 2 on the 28th of October, 2016 on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
