Assassin's Creed is one of the most impressive video game series currently in existence.
From gorgeous but dull roots, it has become a global brand, heralded by a new release every year which still manages to innovate time and again. For my money, 2013's Black Flag was the best title since Brotherhood, both expanding the world and refining the mechanics to deliver an extraordinary experience for gamers.
It has been rumoured that 2014 will bring two new AC games - a last gen title possibly called comet and one for PS4, Xbox One and PC with the name of Unity. The second title has been confirmed and teased and is already looking like a game changer for the series.
The latest behind the scenes video for Unity delves deep into the technology behind the game, driven by Ubisoft's AnvilNext engine, which has been used as far back as AC III. You'll see how they build these incredible world's and check out the level of detail available in this revolution wracked Paris.
For those gamers who complain about the series stagnating, new ways of getting around the city will be welcome, as well as anything which can be done to bring some new life to the fighting. The biggest change will be the chance to take on these missions with three other human players - though that could end up making the game incredibly easy.
One thing is clear, Unity is going to be the most graphically impressive title in a series already known for being incredibly good looking. Let's just hope the story, and the main character, are just as involving.
Assassin's Creed: Unity comes to Xbox One, PS4 and PC on the 28th of October 2014 worldwide.
