Ubisoft's Watch Dogs isn't quite here just yet, but we're just about foaming at the mouth in anticipation of its open world delights.
And it seems we're not the only ones, the company has just released a report on the scale of their pre-orders - and they're destroying records in the process. Watch Dogs is already the most pre-ordered new IP in the history of Ubisoft and the biggest new franchise across the industry at large.
Now partly that's an indictment of the serious lack of originality in the games market and its likely also skewed by the fact that the game slipped by over 6 months but it still a rousing show of confidence in a game that most of the world has yet to play.
“These strong pre-orders are a clear indication of players’ anticipation and excitement for Watch Dogs,” said Geoffroy Sardin, Senior VP Sales and Marketing at Ubisoft. “The teams have worked tirelessly to ensure that players will enjoy a top quality game with enormous scope, and we can’t wait to get the game into their hands.”
If you do get involved in the pre-order madness, you can pick up a number of packs including ones with extra skins and perks as well as a Season pass which unlocks extra single-player story material and more for an extra €20.
Watch Dogs is coming to all the consoles and PC from the 27th of May. Expect for Wii U - that's set for later in 2014.
