Gears of War 4 is coming soon, and it's going to kick off with an extended prologue.
This is there for a couple of reasons, including introducing the world and the characters and giving you some context for the state of the world 20 years later. It's also a good way to get right into the action, and get some tutorial time as well.
Here's the opening 20 minutes of Gears 4.
It looks like Gears alright, with chunky characters tucking and running and enemies that can take a clip to the chest and keep on coming. Really it looks like a mini version of what to expect from the main campaign, and things get very frantic by the end.
A pretty serious time then, but it's nice to see that the beginning of the game proper will be a more pleasant time than what we've seen in the Gears universe before. And then things will get serious again.
Gears of War 4 is out on the 11th of October, 2016.
