We Happy Few definitely stood out from the crowd during E3, with a creepy vibe and an English 60s-ish setting in an alternative world where everyone takes a drug called Joy in order to remain a compliant member of society.
We thought the showcased sequence was pretty great.
Now the game doesn't have a confirmed release date yet for the Xbox One (it's a console exclusive) but PC players will be able to get hands on very soon, as it's launching on Steam Early Access on the 26th of July, 2016.
Despite how it may look in this sequence, which is from the beginning of the game, We Happy Few is actually procedurally generated. You find yourself in a terrifying city off your meds and have to escape by blending in with the drugged up populace. That makes it all significantly less interesting than the story driven impression we get here.
