It’s been nearly five years since we last got to grips with Wipeout on the playstation.
You definitely remember this title though as often Wipeout came bundles with the PS One and the PS Two.
We certainly remember it vividly and we miss it dearly. The last wipeout was Wipeout 2048 for the PS Vita but at last it is back again.
Why the reason for the long absence, well Sony Studios Liverpool, the makers of the game, no longer exists so you can imagine making a game now would be rather difficult.
But the game is coming back, with a remastering of the old games with more ships, music and
modes than any of the games and it will be ready to roll in 4K come the summer of 2017.
Here’s the trailer:
Also the main thing we love about the game is the truly ludicrous back story to it. Not that the story itself is that ludicrous but the breadth and depth of it is just nuts. Whoever’s job it was to write the backstory must have really loved their job because they really went above and beyond the call of duty.
Take a look:
Wipeout:Omega Collection will return in summer 2017.
