Xbox One update brings external storage support and real names
A new system update for the Xbox One will be released in June and will add external storage support, real names for friend lists, and changes to gold memberships among others.

From June, the Xbox One will support up to two external hard drives at once. Devices larger than 256GB using USB 3.0 are supported and, once formatted, users can copy and move games. This will also enable players to bring content to other players’ houses.

If you need an easier way to identify certain people from your friends list of 1,000 people, you may be able to identify some of them by their real name. Users will be able to share their name with all their friends, a subset, friends of friends or none at all.

The SmartGlass app is also getting an overhaul. It will support OneGuide and act as a Universal Remote Control. In addition, SmartGlass will keep users up to date with what their friends are up to with stats, activity and achievements available via the app.

The June update will also remove the requirement to have a Gold membership to access additional services such as Netflix and other video apps.
