Xbox Play Anywhere will let you play on PC or Xbox One

Xbox One owners will soon have the freedom to play selected games on their console or PC thanks to the newly announced Xbox Play Anywhere.

This lets you purchase a title digitally and then play it on Xbox One or a Windows 10 PC. From the outset, it's going to be compatible with certain first-party games, though third-party games will be added over time.

The first titles supported by Xbox Play Anywhere will be Forza Horizon 3, Gears of War 4, Halo Wars 2, ReCore, Scalebound, Sea of Thieves, State of Decay 2, and We Happy Few.

Microsoft also says that it is going to make a bigger effort to release games on both platforms simultaneously. This, and the ability to play games on both platforms, may bolster digital sales of games.
