Indie musician Alex Turner finds he always ends up writing about women

Alex Turner, frontman of The Arctic Monkeys and The Last Shadow Puppets, has admittedly had many a muse in his time as a musician and lyricist. In a recent interview to come out this May in Esquire, the musician speaks about his inspiration garnered from his dalliances with various women over the years.

Turner famously dated Alexa Chung for four years, splitting in 2011, and is now living with his model girlfriend Arielle Vandenberg in LA, who starred in his video for “R U Mine?” In his teens he also dated the now-wife of Kings of Leon’s lead guitarist Matthew Followill, Johanna Bennett, who co-wrote Fluorescent Adolescent.

Speaking in the Esquire interview to be released in May, the singer said “''I write about women, yes. I haven't really found a way round it yet. There's other things I eventually might get round to writing about. But for now ... in a sense they're about girls. But in a sense they're about loneliness. And longing”.
