Actress
Amy Huberman and model
Georgia Salpa are hot favourites to scoop top prize at the
VIP Style Awards tonight.
In the fierce competition for this year’s Most Stylish Woman crown, Boylesports have tipped Amy (33) at 6/1 and Star columnist Georgia (26) at 7/1.
A spokeswoman for the bookies told The Star why Amy and Georgia are so popular.
“Amy Huberman always keeps it classic on the red carpet, and punters reckon she barely puts a foot wrong when it comes to dressing up,” explained Nicola McGeady of
Boylesports. “But Big Brother babe Georgia Salpa hasn’t gone unnoticed,” she added. “Her bandeau dresses have captured the punters’ imagination so it would be no surprise to see her come out on top.”
Fellow model Pippa O’Connor is also a strong contender at 8/1. Sharon Corr and Vogue Williams are in joint fourth at 9/1, with TV3’s Kirsteen O’Sullivan another hot tip at 10/1.
Other nominees include politician Mary Mitchell O’Connor and fashionistas Glenda Gilson, Caroline Morahan and Rosanna Davison. While Most Stylish Woman is the coveted award, there’s also huge interest in the Most Stylish Man stakes. The Voice Of Ireland host Niall Breslin is outright favourite with odds of 1/5.
His nearest rival is Craig Doyle at 10/1. “There is a long list of nominees but punters have been coming in for Bressie at all odds since his stint on the RTE talent show,” revealed Nicola McGeady. Rugby hunk
Rob Kearney and actress babe Susie Amy are favourites to scoop Most Stylish Couple, but Gordon D’Arcy and Aoife Cogan are in hot pursuit.
In the Newcomer section, Daniella Moyles, Rozanna Purcell, Diana Bunici and Aoibhin Garrihy are all stunning nominees. Voting for the Peter Mark VIP Style Awards closed at midnight. The stylish winners will be announced tonight at a glittering bash in Dublin’s Shelbourne Hotel.
Smooth-talking hosts actor and singer Keith Duffy and Karen Koster of TV3 will oversee all the glitzy action. Last year’s winner, Claudine Keane, is due to be in the high-profile audience to hand over her coveted trophy. Stunning Amy recently joked from her telly auditions in the States that she was going under the surgeon’s knife.
“Okay LA let’s do this!” she tweeted. “Ps. when I come home with a completely new face and butt cheek implants, we’re all just going to act normal ok?”
