Colin Farrell doesn’t match up to action legend Arnold Schwarzenegger in the remake of Total Recall, critics have said.

Farrell and his big budget €100m movie also disappointed at the box office on its opening weekend, making an estimated €20m.

It earned less than The Dark Knight Rises which made €28m on its third weekend at the top.

Critics largely unfavourably compared Farrell to Schwarzenegger, who starred in the original 1990 box office hit. Farrell will attend the film’s Irish premiere in Dublin on August 14.
