Actor Chris O'Dowd's star is rising fast in Hollywood as he is set to star in a new family comedy for HBO.
The documentary-style comedy is called Family Tree and Co Roscommon man OíDowd, 32, will play the lead character Tom Chadwick.
The character is dealing with losing his job and his girlfriend and starts looking into his family history.
Eight episodes of the series have been ordered by HBO and it will also be shown on this side of the Atlantic on BBC2. Filmmaker Christopher Guest, who was behind the cult movie This is Spinal Tap, is behind the new comedy show.
O'Dowd's profile rocketed in the US after taking part in the hugely popular comedy Bridesmaids.
