POP singer Derek Burke from You Tube sensation Crystal Swing got a record score on Celebrity Mastermind - for the lowest ever points tally.
Red faced Derek (20) can be seen struggling in episode five of the latest version of the hit series - which has been running for 40 years - when it airs tomorrow on TV3 at 8.30pm.
Until Derek’s performance, software analyst Kajen Thuraaisingham (30) had singlehandedly held the record lowest score in Mastermind history since January 29, 2010.
But Derek, from Midleton in Co Cork, also managed a meagre FIVE points - to beat the embarrassing six points total set by socialite Tara Palmer-Tompkinson (40) in 2004.
The Crystal Swinger scored only three points in his specialist subject round and two points in the general knowledge round.
Five of the specialist questions about Ford related to Derek’s home county Cork - and he managed to answer two correctly.
But he got stuck in the general knowledge round when he was asked to name the location of Co Kerry’s famous mountain peak Carantouhill.
Derek answered: “Pass”.
Derek, his sister Dervla (19), and their mum-of-two Mary Murray-Burke shot to fame in March 2010 when their country cover of pop classic He Drinks Tequila got 70,000 hits.
A TV3 spokeswoman said: “Derek played the game with great spirits and raised money for his chosen charity Multiple Sclerosis Ireland.”
The Celebrity Mastermind grand final airs on Sunday, July 22, at 8.30pm on TV3.
