Dustin The Turkey
Dustin the Turkey could be forgiven for thinking Christmas had been banned forever when this week he was included on a list of Ireland's most eligible bachelors alongside Shame star Michael Fassbender (34) and (engaged) Bridesmaids' actor Chris O'Dowd (32).
To mark Leap Day Year America's Entertaiment Weekly columnist Lanford Beard - who admits to having Irish blood - named Dustin on the list despite the fact that John Morrison's puppet has yet to gobble up the US with his cheeky humour.
Miss Beard's list also included Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody (35), Derry-born Glee star Damian McGinty (19) and English-born Brendan Coyle (48) who plays butler Bates on ITV's Downton Abbey.
"I know he hasn't jumped the pond yet, but apparently the frisky fowl is a very popular TV presenter in Ireland," Miss Beard
writes of Dustin.
"Our nuptials would be the event of the global puppet community, which would almost certainly guarantee Muppet attendance (not to mention those scrappers from Avenue Q). Plus, who could say no to this face?"
In the end Miss Beard opted for hunky Fassbender as her would be her choice as Leap Day proposal pass husband with Saoirse Ronan (17) as her choice for one of the flowergirls. Apparently in the end Miss Beard just couldn't pluck up the courage to ask Dustin.
