Former Fair City actor Ryan O’Shaughnessy landed a second chance of showbiz stardom after making it through the final battles stage of
The Voice last night.
Ryan (19) spent nine years playing Mark Halpin in Carrigstown before leaving to join boyband, Mission 4.
However, the band were later axed by their record label. Ryan, from Skerries, Co Dublin, knocked out music veteran Colin Hand (32) from Bangor, Co Down.
Former band singer Colin’s dream of a showbiz comeback was dashed as coach
Brian Kennedy chose his rival after a performance of U2’s One. Meanwhile, history repeated itself for stunning Limerick blonde Onya Gray (29). She was paired with Dubliner Fauve Chapman (26) who knocked her out of You’re A Star several years ago.
Sex kitten Fauve managed to repeat the feat again when coach
Sharon Corr chose her. A gutted Onya said afterwards: “I’d rather wait until I get home until I fall apart.” Actor
Conor J Ryan (20) from Limerick, who co-starred with Pat Shortt in Garage, also saw his hopes of moving into music crash last night.
He was dumped by Brian Kennedy in favour of Richie Hayes (34) from Wexford. Elsewhere, Christina Foran (19) ended up in tears after coach
Kian Egan recommended that she sing into her hairbrush in her bedroom if she wanted to be in her comfort zone.
