Father Ted ‘tribute act’ is to go on, go on this autumn without the approval of the show’s original writers.
Ted & Co has booked 26 venues nationwide for its Irish tour despite having a run-in with Hat Trick Productions — the firm behind the hit TV series.
Laughlines Ltd, the company behind the tribute sketch, was forced to change the name of its stage act called Father Ted: The Dinner Show because it claimed it breached its copyright.
Writer Michael Wilson-Green said the idea behind the show was to make people laugh and not “trademark infringement”.
