Irish group The Strypes make US debut on Letterman
Teen four-piece rock n roll group The Strypes are unlike any other adolescent group

They may be aged 16-18-years-old, which is scarily young considering their talent and professionalism, but to underestimate The Strypes is to ignore the attention the group are receiving internationally. The Cavan teens made the colossal move of playing on Letterman on this Monday night’s show.

The group are currently touring the US, which ends with a gig in Los Angeles next week. After their performance of “What a Shame” on the late night chat show, Letterman praised the young musicians. He also addressed the audience, saying “It's The Strypes – that's all you need to know”. He then said in good jest, mockingly, "I said before the show that if this goes well I'll take y'all to play Laser Tag"following the performance. He owes them a round.

The Strypes are planning first a European tour for after their current US tour. This will include a date in Belfast on April 10, and two shows in Dublin on April 11 and 12. The Strypes were also one of the three headline acts announced yesterday for the Sea Sessions music festival in Donegal this summer. The other acts spoken of were Kelis and The Dandy Warhols for the Bundoran festival on June 27-29.
