Now we’re better than all the West
It’s all very sad that we’re saying goodbye forever to Westlife tonight — but hey everyone, the good news is
Jedward is still here!
It was totally crazy — we performed over half of our new album last night in Croke Park and all of the hits like Lipstick and Waterline.
We were on stage for an hour and the great thing is that we get to do it all again tonight!
We have lots of memories of Westlife from even before we were famous because we were always the crazy Backstreet Boys fans and our granny was always the crazy Westlife fan. We were very excited when we met Nicky Byrne outside the Shelbourne Hotel one day.
He was very nice to us and we were like: “OMG, it’s
Nicky Byrne from Westlife!” Then after we started on X Factor we met the whole band for the first time on a plane. We had jellybeans and we went up and shared our beans with them. We’re probably most friendly with
Mark Feehily because we met him one day in Selfridges in London and we went for sushi with him and we’ve met him lots of times since then.
He doesn’t want to go solo — he wants to be a songwriter. We know
Shane Filan is going to be a really big success as a solo star — he’s going to be a huge singer and we’ll all be back in Croke Park again.
Kian Egan is going to be the next Louis Walsh and he’s going to find and manage a new incredible act.
As for
Brian McFadden, we’re trying to contact him to tell him we have tickets for him for the last ever show. Wouldn’t it be cool for all five original members of Westlife to be in the one venue for one last night only? Also guys, this week we were in Orlando in sunny Florida to shoot a promotional video for the next Late Late Toy Show.
The good news is that it wasn’t all work — we went to Animal Kingdom and John got his photo taken with a giraffe. We also swam with stingrays — you know, the fish that stabbed Steve Irwin! It was a bit nerve-wracking, but in the end we just said: “If we die, we die.” Then afterwards everyone told us they have their poison taken out and we never would have died anyway.
