John Pinette has died, aged 50. The comedian was found dead in his hotel room in Pittsburgh over the weekend by family members having been in the city to attend a funeral.
Perhaps best known for his role in the final episode of Seinfeld where he finds himself being carjacked, only to have Gerry, Elaine and George stand by and makefun about his weight before being jailed for violating the city's Good Samaritan law, Pinette was also an established stand up comedian, with successful shows including I'm Starvin and Still Hungry drawing in huge numbers of fans.
He had also appeared in several movies, including the likes ofJunior, The Punisher and Dear God,
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed that Pinette, born and raised in Boston, Massacheusetts,died of natural causes, having been suffering with heart and liver disease. He had celebrated his 50th birthday less than two weeks previously on March 23rd.
